Prioritize issues requested from other teams and customer support.
What is Triage
Triage is a special Inbox for your team. Anytime an issue is created from an integration or by a workspace member outside your specific Linear team, it will show up here. This gives team members a chance to review, update, and prioritize issues before they are added to the team's workflow.
How to set up Triage
Go to your team settings to enable Triage. Once you toggle it on, the Triage Inbox will show up under the team name in the sidebar and any connected support integrations will automatically route new issues there. New issues will also go there if they are created through an integration (e.g. Slack, Sentry) or if members outside of your Linear team create the issue in Linear.
How it works
Navigate to your Triage Inbox with
G
then T
. Open the issue to review it. You'll find default replies to accept, merge, cancel, or snooze the issue. You can escalate it to the current cycle by setting the issue property or ask for more information from the user who created the issue by commenting on the issue while it's in the Triage inbox. If you merge a triage issue, it will add the issue content as a comment to the canonical issue and any linked attachments will be added to the main issue, too. If you use one of our customer support integrations, the app will update the link in the integration to the active issue instead of the duplicate, so that the conversation is re-opened once the main issue resolves.
Snoozing
We've added the ability to snooze Triage items. Choose between 1 hour, 3 hours, tomorrow and next week. We'll add more options and custom snoozing in the future.
Customer Support integrations
Get more out of Triage by connecting it to our integrations with Intercom, Front, or Zendesk. Your customer support team will be able to create new Linear issues and link to existing ones directly from their customer support tool. Closed issues re-open customer conversations automatically for easy follow up with customers who have reported bugs or requested features.
